A Guide To Summer Fashion For Men

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Summer is back and with it comes the need to evaluate what is in your wardrobe. See what you have that will work and what needs to purchased so that you can be as debonair as you would like to be, whether you are the man about town or kicked back and relaxed.

Cool colors are the thing – T shirts, fashionable tank tops and polo shirts in lightweight, colorful fabrics give a fresh and cool look. White is a necessary part of everyone’s wardrobe and goes with everything, but finding a few colors that enhance your skin tone is also a plus. The solid colors are best for style, however a good way to disguise the summer sweat is to find a pattern that will hide the dark stains. The slogan T’s are best left to the people they suit. How much of your life and personality do you really want to display across your chest?

Wear a decent pair of shorts – If you heed nothing else in this article, get this…wear decent shorts! Keep the length of our shorts nearer you knee than your waist, and keep them a little loose. Even if you think you look amazing in short, tight shorts, unless you are on the tennis court it is just too much. On the other hand, saggy, baggy shorts are too far the other direction and just look sloppy.

Change your belt – Simply changing your belt is a good way to ease into that summer look. Switching from a heavy leather belt to a canvas belt brings a summer feel to your jeans, khakis and shorts. Wearing lighter-weight pants and shorts will also help you feel cooler and fresher, as well as going well with the lighter-weight belt.

Purchase a good pair of sunglasses – Aviator glasses are particularly appealing, as they look good on most men. Not only do a good pair of sunglasses add that certain something to your summer look, they protect the sensitive skin around your eyes and may enable you to look years younger than you are by preventing unnecessary sun damage.

Leave you socks at home – This is one summer fashion tip that’s common sense, but surprisingly is often not followed. Please do not think that you’re the exception in this case and that you look nifty wearing your white socks with sandals. Freshen out your feet, this is one fashion tip that must be carried out furthermore. Wearing sandals requires that you care for your feet, pedicures are not only for metrosexuals. Even a simple at home pedicure and grooming of your feet can go a long way.

A Shopping Outing With Your Daughter

Monday, July 12th, 2010

Today is the day you have been waiting for! You will be taking your eldest daughter Janine shopping. She recently got married and this is the first time since then that you and your daughter have been able to get together. You can hardly wait to having some quality time with your eldest.

First on the agenda is a juice drink, a quick pick me up for your shopping excursion. You remind Janine that she needs to pick up the cordless handheld vacuum for her husband. She had told you that the one her husband had in his car no longer worked and he was in need of a new one.

Here is the store you always get your clothing at. You both decide to check out the sales racks and see if there is anything you want to get today. After having scoured the racks and finding nothing, you continue back into the crowds of the mall.

The beauty on the next window stops the two of you from moving on. There you see rings for the bride to be that would make any bride happy. In the next case are the wedding bands for men. You are not looking for jewelry, nor is Janine but like the people passing by, you just had to stop to admire the magnificence of the rings being displayed.

At the next store memories are invoked by what is in the showcase. Camping gear is laid out in an array to make any camper wish they were at the campground. Your family goes camping every year and you speak with Janine about plans for this summer. You both set up tentative plans for an outing for the four of you next month. Hopefully everyone will be able to set the date into his or her respective schedules.

Next is the Kitchen Store, your favorite store in the mall. You have one thing you are looking for here, which is a roasting pan with lid. The pan you had has seen better days and you decided to replace it. This new one will match your kitchen colors better too. As you place it in your basket Janine decides to purchase one for her home also.

Next Janine will pick up the item for your son-in-law, and then head for the food court. All this walking around the mall this morning has made you more than ready to eat. The two of you have been shopping for a few hours and you are glad to be finding a seat and resting your feet before doing anymore.

Popcorn Maker Buyers Guide

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

Buying a popcorn maker for your home or business is a fantastic idea. There are a lot of folks that would love to purchase a popcorn machine, but just don’t know how to do it. I wrote this article as a buyers guide for those looking to make a smooth popcorn popper acquisition.

Firstly, you will want to decide where to place your new popcorn popper Deciding where you are going to put your popcorn machine will determine what size you can buy. The size of the machine will usually dictate the price of the popcorn maker. Keep in mind that you not only have to determine the size of the space the popper will be occupying, but also the size of the doorways leading to the space you will be occupying.

How large of a machine you need to purchase will depend on the amount of popcorn you will be making at one time, and the area of space you have to store the machine in. For instance you will not want to get a small tabletop machine if you are planning on using the popcorn popper to sell popcorn at a carnival.

Next you will want to get a general idea of how much you can spend on your new machine. Large machines generally cost much more than tiny table top machines. You’ll want to note that buying a pre-owned popcorn popper or a popper from an ecommerce store will save you money.

Used machines can be found on the Internet, in classified sections of newspapers, and at estate sales. These machine may also be purchased at fairs, carnivals, and amusement parks that sell their equipment upon full depreciation. You may find that these used machines cost almost as much as a new machine from an Internet popcorn machine retailer.

After you have decided what you would like to pay for you machine, you can decide where to go to aquire it. Visiting a local popcorn machine retailer will give you the ability to feel the machine as well as look at it. Testing the new machine will probably not be possible until after you have purchased it.

Internet stores are fantastic for purchasing discount popcorn poppers. These Internet stores allow you to view manufacturers specifications, pictures, and reviews from others that have used the popcorn maker. Also you will not have to pay sales tax on the machine as long as you buy it from a state you do not reside in.

Thank you for reading our article on how to buy a popcorn machine. Use these tips wisely and you will have a smooth and easy popcorn popper purchase.

Another Day Of Shopping At The Mall

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

We got in the car and headed for the local mall. I was thinking of buying a cordless handheld vacuum if a good one was on sale. My shopping buddy had one that I liked. I asked her where she got it. She had been looking for a suitable gift for her uncle and saw the vacuum on sale at the hardware store. Nothing is better than getting a leading brand name product on sale. So she bought it.

I mentioned needing one to vacuum the carpeted stairs at home. It was next to impossible to lug the big vacuum up each stair. I wanted something light weight to pick up small messes like potato chip crumbs. She let her kids use it now to clean up their crumbs after snacking.

My daughter had spilled about a thousand beads on her bedroom floor last week. Even after she retrieved most of them, she still stepped on a few and they hurt her bare feet. She couldn’t get them up with the broom because it didn’t work on the carpet. I got out the vacuum and helped her out. She isn’t big enough to push the large vacuum cleaner yet.

We stopped to look at a window display of beautiful new bedding quilts. I had been wanting to redecorate the bedroom for some time. We really liked the colors and patterns on these. I noted the one I wanted and planned to wait for a sale. I bought two pillows and we moved on.

We went over to the jewelry department as was our custom. We loved to look at all the earrings. Some looked so delicate, especially the new chandelier styles. I was unable to wear them because I thought my neck was too short. Even though they were popular, I had to pass them up.

She picked out a rhinestone bracelet with gold accents. It was attractive and not terribly expensive. I really thought it looked nice. I almost wanted one for myself but didn’t want to buy the identical one to hers. I knew I’d find something else another day.

Handbags, scarves wallets, we looked at all of them. In the shoe department we laughed about the stiletto heels. We decided the movie stars were welcome to wear them and possibly break a leg doing so. It’s like walking around on two ladders. Why take a chance on falling?

After walking around the jewelry counter once more, I remarked that they had a great selection of wedding bands for men. We still liked the plain gold bands. We wondered out loud what kind of wedding band our friend Scott would choose. He was getting married next month. We both agreed he might be avant garde enough to buy one that was decorated with diamonds.

Checking Out Product Reviews And Opinions

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

When you purchase any item be it girls shirts or computer equipment it is a good idea to check out the merchandise before you buy. There are plenty of places to do this. It will help you make an accurate informed decision on what to buy. With the number of recalls out there it is important to check before making a major purchase.

Although you can find anything from baby cribs to entire dining room sets on TV, television advertisements are not the best for telling you if a product is any good. In order to choose between the myriad of products available you might need some help. There are a couple of places you can look.

One resource to find reviews in hard copy is your local library. Whether you are looking for a new car or shirts for girls there is a periodical that has information or a review about it. Most libraries have a large amount of magazines for you to look through and most of them are indexed in the catalog. It is not hard to find what you are looking for and you can always ask a librarian to help you out.

You can also buy periodicals to take home from your local bookstore. Although you cannot read them at the store it is a great way to pick some of them up so you can take them with you to compare them. Consumer Reports is a good place to start. They have reviews, safety information and specs on just about any product you can think of. They pride themselves on having an unbiased opinion on products.

Probably the most widely used source for information on products is the internet. You have to be careful using it though. Make sure the site that you use offers unbiased reviews. Some reviewers are actually paid by the company that makes the products they are reviewing. When this happens you will not get a true review.

Most people who professionally review products are paid by someone. In order to find out if the review you are reading is legitimate or biased you will have to do some checking. You can do this by looking at where the review comes from. The bottom of most webpages have the name of who owns the site and when the site was made. Before trusting a review you should take a look at this information.

It is also good for you to read several reviews of the same product. If you do not you might end up not getting a well rounded view. One persons opinion may not be enough to judge the value of a product or service.
