I stumbled upon this glorious children game inside a booth selling IQ games at Tesco 36 months ago. I became impressed as a result of innovative contents. Besides, children can start to play independently and checking their very own answers. I still remember one of several puzzles showing the superior view of an swimmer wearing a cap, along with the kids are asked to recognize the respective side view with the swimmer. That needs a long imagination in the children. However, the purchase price scared me off. Its at least RM600 . The sales lady informed me that game had over 3 decades history in Germany.
Okay, you might not know what is Luk and Bambino Luk, I have found a web site that demonstrates this. Check out the demonstration and you will understand what im saying
BambinoLuk (2-4 yrs . old) : Introduction, Demonstration , Samples
MiniLuk (4-8 yrs . old): Introduction, Demonstration , Samples
(note: Cleaning it once a to buy at their store in mid 2009 but appears to be they did not sell outside US)
I believe you will end up impressed too looking at the Samples and demonstration . I strongly believe by exposing your children to the telltale games, we have been developing their intelligence, with regards to sequencing, imagination and association. You can tell that I am convinced and that i would buy, but forking out RM600 is extremely painful, especially at the stage that I dont know my children would like it.
By the way, Im a huge fan of Dr Glenn Doman(proposed usage of flash cards) and Dr Howard Gardner(proposed Multiple Intelligence concept), I believe that parents should stimulate children to think and to sharpen their brain because brain development happen at early childhood. I needed finish reading their books years ago. Thats the reason why I was convinced quite easily.
It so happened which i stood a short day at Germany inside the following month. Although insufficient time, within the available 120 minutes, I managed to search for a bookstore to find out about this Luk system. Yes, the sales girl was right that it was popular in German for more than many years. I needed a difficult time to choose what to purchase. Unlike other parts worldwide, in Germany, the Luk system features a very wide varieties, i was selecting from a range of 50-100 books. Each one is approximately 5-7Euro. I aquired several books and a controller, amounting to RM200 using the kind help from the Germany salesman translating for me personally. Thats 1/3 with the price compared to things i saw.
My son had completed all the exercises of this bambinoLUK set. I wanted to obtain more, but Some have possiblity to visit Germany i cannot afford a vacation like this. I stumbled upon a toy shop in United Square Singapore located at the basement. The state website may be found here. My son had an opportunity to view it and tried out before I paid SGD100 for some 5 books. I knew in Germany and US, this may be cheaper but given that there were an opportunity to test it, I chose to pay. Could be partly as the owner was very friendly and kind. As expected, I realised later that it was sold cheaper, about 50 % price in US. My friend attemptedto invest in Amazon, but again, since not offered directly by Amazon, they did not sell outside US.
I also discovered a cheap version, sold in pasar malam. The controller looked akin to the miniLuk system. It was sold at cheaper price, but nonetheless at RM160! Nevertheless the quality had no match to the miniLuk system. Besides, Also i suspected that it may be pirated copy. Checking the contents, I found that this Germany Intelligence amongst people was missing. It appeared to be a compilation which is made of many different subjects, and not using a key learning theme.
I introduced this wonderful product to a lot of people. One friend found a method to do parallel imports. Their website is introducing the games at far more affordable price. The products are genuine excellent goods. You can visit the web site G-minimall here. I had created got a new couple more sets, that i cant find in Malaysia nor Singapore using help.
I always admire German engineers because of their innovation and good engineering. I believe IQ games similar to this contribute with this. I value innovation products like this. But please avoid getting me wrong, I would not think that IQ games will make a youngster more clever and definitely you can not create a genius beyond these. Nevertheless the IQ games is likely to make a kid more intelligent you might say based on Dr Howard Gardner. But unfortunately, its not commonly offered to us….
